Doca 1 Norte

The project involves the advancement of the continuous quay wall and the replacement of the existing dilapidated advanced quay, creating a single alignment along the entire northern bank of Dock No. 1. This project includes:

A new single berthing front on the North Quay of Dock No. 1, with an approximate length of 488 meters, allowing for the future berthing of container ships compatible with depths of -12.0 meters (ZHL).

A berthing quay of 456.70 meters, extending along the North bank of Dock No. 1, creating a single alignment, which will be advanced by 7.5 meters relative to the current alignment of the continuous quay wall. The quay structure is designed to accommodate future dredging of the quay to -12.00 meters (ZHL) throughout its entire length to the navigation channel.

These measures aim to restore the operational and safety conditions of the quay, enabling the berthing of larger vessels through the realignment of the quay. Additionally, it will provide additional capacity for Ro-Ro vessels currently serving Porto de Leixões.
