Requalification of the Port Bypass Road
This project is of crucial importance for the modernization and improvement of port infrastructure, aiming to enhance operational efficiency and the safety of port operations.
The project, scheduled to start in March with a total duration of 14 months, will be carried out in phases, including the following interventions:
- Installation of new pavement, both asphalt and reinforced concrete, according to the area to be intervened;
- Installation of a water supply infrastructure to meet the needs of port users;
- The electrical infrastructure will be developed to meet the current electrification needs of the docks, including the implementation of the OPS - Onshore Power Supply project, which will allow supplying power to ships.
The Rehabilitation of the Port Beltway will provide a modern and functional road circulation, tailored to the port's needs, contributing to increased safety conditions for drivers and port workers.
Area to be intervened
The implementation of the project for the Rehabilitation of the Port Beltway may result in some temporary constraints on the usual circulation within the port.
The Administration of the Ports of Douro, Leixões, and Viana do Castelo (APDL) acknowledges the importance of maintaining operational fluidity and accessibility for port stakeholders.
Committed to efficiency and minimizing impacts, APDL will implement proactive measures to mitigate any inconveniences, thus ensuring that essential port operations occur with the least possible disruption during the project period.
The primary objective is to ensure safety and efficiency while maintaining transparent dialogue with all port users and seeking solutions that reconcile the needs of infrastructural development with operational continuity.
